Tokonoma is a fine art gallery specializing in minimal ink art by Japanese artists of the highest calibre. Our exhibition schedule includes not only ink art but Japanese and other artists working in various media.
In August 2008 Tokonoma will be holding an exhibition/competition entitled "Plates of the Gold Coast" as one of the official events of the annual "Tastes of Gold Coast" gourmet festival. Visual artists in any medium are invited to submit entries. All works accepted for exhibit will be for sale. An image of the entry/entries should be submitted by June 1, 2008.
We are also planning a beautiful book of Australian minimal art and writings. Artists, photographers, writers and poets are invited to submit a work for possible inclusion.

Above all, artists and art lovers are invited to visit our gallery, just outside Mudgeeraba, in tranquil bushland on the way to the Springbrook waterfalls and perhaps enjoy one of our spectacular green teas or a Japanese High Tea (by reservation).
