.....Frances's most recent work reveals a delicate dance where light and emotion converge. Her surfaces absorb light, creating a spatial ambiguity where material references are dissolved. The paint is washed on to form color fields of various intensity - sometimes the paint penetrates and covers the previous coating and sometimes traces of color are left penetrating through multiple layers. It’s obvious that Frances has developed a mature skill in juxtaposing fecund colors that work to form a symbiotic tick with time and a universal impulse for beauty. It’s as if she takes her own earthly, sometimes painful experiences and merges them with the distant images of nebula and galaxies. Her final cosmology captures the viewer and screams out: be still, take a moment from the rush of things, and find your peace.
