A statement of existence. A measure of time. A foothold in the now.

Poetry plays a major role in my art practice, embedding words, either the whole poem, or parts thereof, into my artwork. Sometimes hidden or obscured, perhaps a reflection of where I’ve been, where I would like to visit, where I would like to guide others. My artistic narrative.

Natural and urban landscapes oil on canvas

I paint landscape and city views usually where there are unusual reflections in water. I am currently painting Eastern Australian coastal scenes. The example here is my painting of rocks at North Burleigh Beach (oil on canvas 155 cm x 120 cm). I have travelled extensively in Europe for the purpose of painting European landscapes and city views. The medium always used is oil on canvas.

abstract visions of inner rhythms and sensual vibrations

My paintings and works on paper echo the rhythms and vibrations of an inner landscape.
The central idea that intrigues me is that art or the aesthetic experience can reveal a truth that penetrates the surface. The reflections we have when we experience a work of art have a relationship to our notion of beauty.
