Byron Bay Brewery aims to become more involved with local community projects and we hope the 2009 Byron Bay Brewery Art Award will be a step towards strengthening our ties to the Northern Rivers Art Community.

First prize is $5000 and there is also a prize of $1000 for the People’s Choice Award.

One of the judges for the award will be one of Australia’s greatest and most prolific mural artists, Pierre Mol. In November 2009, he will be painting a substantial mural at Byron Bay Brewery to capture the rock and roll heart of the historic building. The mural will include a “Legends of Rock” painting that will be on the background of the stage. Our second guest judge will be announced in the very near future.
