Poetry plays a major role in my art practice, embedding words, either the whole poem, or parts thereof, into my artwork.

My art is an expression of my creativity, love of life and spirituality. My joy in colour and energy permeates all my artworks and imbues them with their own life force.

I am constantly inspired by the people, the lands, the animals, the ocean and the city, feeling that it is all a wonderful, insightful, adventure to help my creative currency expand and prosper.

I was born in Sydney in 1968 to Hungarian parentage. I graduated from the National Arts School in Sydney in 1992.

Sonja specializes in conceptual art, pencil, pen, ink and pyrography. Her latest pyro works include Coffee tables. The 'Fishin' series can be seen at Heart of Arts Gallery, Murwillumbah.

As a fairly committed painter, I am perpetually interested in challenging myself - in terms of technical proficiency, the formal aspects of painting, and also the emotional content of my work.
